The role supports the provision of water and wastewater services to urban and remote customers across the Northern Territory predominately in the Big Rivers Region.  As a Water Systems Operator trainee you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring water treatment and distribution systems. Your primary role is to support the service, maintenance and delivery of clean, safe drinking water to Territorians and treat to wastewater and sewage effectively. Through this paid apprenticeship opportunity, you will gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820). The role includes duties such as install, repair and maintain high-voltage equipment, find faults, conduct inspections and take preventive measures to ensure the reliability of the power grid.  You’ll develop on-the-job skills and knowledge to select, set up and install, test, fault-find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and industrial environments. In this paid apprenticeship, you will gain hands on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Underground (UET30821). Undertaking duties such as install, repair and maintain underground cables, ensuring the safe and reliable distribution of electricity. Through on-the-job training you'll acquire a diverse set of skills and expertise, including laying, installing, and maintaining both low and high voltage underground cables, along with the installation and upkeep of electrical equipment. Underground Cable Jointers spend a significant amount of time in restricted spaces like trenches, pits and tunnels. They also work in a high-risk environment, so a safety-first attitude is essential. We are currently seeking to employ an Apprentice Line Worker hosted by Power Water Corporation in Darwin. As an Apprentice Line Worker, you will gain hands on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead (UET30621) in a paid apprenticeship position. Duties include installing overhead or underground electrical lines to distribute power. Inspecting power lines, poles, transformers, and other components to identify signs of wear, damage, or malfunction. It’s important to note that Line Workers need to scale ladders up to 17m high, and work from elevated work platforms up to 45m high. Their work requires technical expertise, physical strength, working at heights and a dedicated mindset to safety in often challenging and hazardous conditions.
